The “hybrid” showcase for the MIT Node x Media Lab IAP 2022 Beyond Smart Cities: A Self-sustaining and liveable 10 min neighbourhood workshop was successfully held at MIT Hong Kong Innovation Node on Jan 15 (Sat.), 2022. This IAP workshop was organized jointly by MIT Node and MIT Media Lab City Science Group on Jan 3-15, 2022. A total of 170 attendees attended the final showcase, including online and in person attendees.
In total, 23 students from Hong Kong and 12 students from MIT registered for this IAP workshop.
After much deliberation, Professor Kent Larson announced the four winning teams. The two Excellence Awards went to Group 4 (Reconnecting Blue & Green: Pedestrian Priority and A New Nullah for Wong Chuk Hang) and Group 3 (Sampan). The two Honourable Mentions went to Group 1 (Island of A Thousand Islands) and Group 5 (Symbioponics: Multispecies Coexistence and Regenerative Floating Farms in Island South).
