Support the MIT Hong Kong Innovation Node Pi-Day Micro-Challenge!

On March 13, we invite you to join us in the annual 24-Hour Pi-Day Challenge! We are calling for online gift donations to the MIT Hong Kong Innovation Node to support the work we do. Your contribution – whether big or small – will help fuel our projects and advance our mission. 

Since 2016, MIT Node has developed unique programs and activities that empower the next generation of thinkers and creators. These include:

  • Propelling computational thinking education to hundreds of primary school teachers and students in the classroom through the CoolThink@JC initiative
  • Uniting engagement between university students from MIT and Hong Kong through innovation bootcamps that build entrepreneurial and intercultural competencies
  • Bringing MIT expertise to Hong Kong through inspiring faculty talks made available to the public

You can make a contribution between March 13, 12:00 pm HKT to March 14, 11:59 am HKT (March 13, 12:00 am EST to 11:59 pm EST) by doing the following:

  • Make your online gift at MIT Hong Kong Foundation (through MIT’s foundation in Hong Kong for a Hong Kong tax receipt) or MIT Club of Hong Kong Micro-challenge Platform Page (directly to MIT for a US tax receipt)
    • For a HK tax receipt: If you’re on the MIT Hong Kong Foundation page, please select “Other” under “Please recommend how you would like to have your gift designated” and type in “MIT Hong Kong Innovation Node Fund (Fund # 2037807)”. This site will receive payments anytime, but if you wait until March 13, then your contribution will count towards our Pi-Day Challenge goals. 
    • For a US tax receipt: If you’re on the MIT Club of Hong Kong Micro-challenge Platform Page, please select “MIT Hong Kong Innovation Node Fund (Fund # 2037807)” from the options. This platform will receive payments only on the day of the challenge.

Our dedicated group of MIT alumni has pledged to make a challenge gift to help us reach our goal. By giving on this day, you’ll join thousands of fellow community members in collectively unlocking the following challenge gift amounts: 

  • US$43,000 if we unlock 100 donors 
  • US$28,000 if we unlock 80 donors 
  • US$14,000 if we unlock 60 donors
