On March 18th 2023, the MIT Node conducted a 1-day training for the “Hub for the Future In Action” program, organized by the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups (HKFYG). Hub for the Future In Action is a social innovation program which aims to create a platform for young innovators to make meaningful impact. The training was designed to provide participants with lectures and consultations on building successful business models, developing go-to-market strategies, as well as learning how to deliver effective startup pitches on their social innovation projects.
A total of 31 participants from 10 finalist teams attended the training on that day, and 1 month after the training, they will be presenting to compete for a project execution grant of up to $100,000 for actualizing their projects. The participants came from diverse backgrounds, including local high school and university students, young professionals, and social entrepreneurs. Through the training, they gained a deeper understanding of the key factors that contribute to the success of a social innovation project, including market analysis and customer acquisition.
